Empowering Primary Care Physicians

Empowering Primary Care Physicians | GT Diagnostics

According to the World Alzheimer report 2021, globally ageing populations plus diagnostic and treatment breakthroughs will create a tsunami of demand for healthcare systems. The WHO reports that there are nearly 10 million new cases of dementia every year. Dementia results from a variety of diseases and injuries that affect the brain. Alzheimer disease is the most common form of dementia and may contribute to 60–70% of cases. Other causes include vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia, and chronic traumatic encephalopathy.

In a recent article titled “Dementia cases are soaring high: new treatments are needed to help patients”, Dr Sonya Miller (Head of Medical Affairs, TauRx), Professor Bjoern Schelter (CEO, GT Diagnostics and Chief Analytics Officer, TauRx) and Professor Claude Wischik (CEO and Co-founder, TauRx) express their views on the future of dementia diagnosis and treatment.
