UNDERSTANDING DEMENTIA

GT Diagnostics develops readily deployable e-platform tools that range from interactive well-being apps that can be used at home to comprehensive tools for expert use targeting the diagnosis and monitoring of dementia.
GT Diagnostics’ tools are designed to be made available through various service providers including personal advice and support systems, residential and non-residential care, and specialised dementia centres.
It all starts with an initial suspicion that something is wrong with someone’s cognitive abilities – The question arises, is this normal ageing or pointing to the first signs of dementia?
Initial appointment & specialist referrals. Getting initial tests done, ruling out other explanations for cognitive impairment, ultimately sending the person on the long and winding road.
Typically, when a specialist referral is needed, there is usually a long waiting period.
Specialist appointments. More tests, often relying on the technology of 1970; paper-based tests developed when we were still using rotary phones.
If the initial suspicion is confirmed this is followed by further blood tests, and other tests including cognitive assessment through expensive and non-mobile technologies.
AD diagnosis is made, often only 6 months after the first appointment with the primary care physician.
Specialist advice on standard symptomatic treatment, treatments that do not ultimately alter the course of the disease.
For most people, management of their symptoms is their only option. Ultimately, the outcome is often long-term care.
First steps taken in the comfort of your home or in the waiting room of the primary care provider, advanced self-administered diagnostics can be used to maximise time using our gamified assessment tool.
Through a more effective initial screening using advanced diagnostic tools, either a diagnosis can be reached at this point or the streamlined process will allow reaching a diagnosis more efficiently.
With new and safe disease-modifying treatments coming to the market, treatment can be started very efficiently, and monitored using these same tools. This translates into a much better outcome for people with AD.
Imagine you could regularly test your cognitive health in the comfort of your home. Imagine subtle changes could be identified very early. Imagine the data collected over the years is not wasted but could be shared readily with experts who can not only help you but also have access to more advanced tools.
HiPAL Pro is GT Diagnostics’ professional tool which is currently under development with the aim to be able to seamlessly integrate with HiPAL.
Through more comprehensive testing, HiPAL Pro is designed to provide an advanced output aimed at assisting in the diagnosis and monitoring of dementia, in particular, Alzheimer’s disease.
PsyCoXx can be used flexibly to aid in diagnosis and to assess or monitor patients across multiple disease domains using a novel, proprietary algorithm. PsyCoXx is administered using a computer and presents the clinician with questions tailored to individual patient ability.
It will provide a data-analysis tool that delivers a quantitative evaluation of standard EEG recordings to aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of patients with dementia, in particular Alzheimer’s Disease.
